5 Spice Grilled Peaches

There’s a little honey in this recipe, which, if the peaches are sweet and ripe enough, you could omit for Whole30.

In all of my years as a pastry chef, I determined that there are two types of dessert people in this world. Ooey Gooey and Fruity Crunchy. Which one are you? Although I am a fan of the darkest chocolate on the planet, I am truly a Fruity Crunchy person. Perhaps it stems from fruit being the primary form of dessert in a Greek household. I love an apple with a little honey and cinnamon. Fruit pies in the summer, mmmm. But alas, no gluten crust for me anymore. The filling is the best part anyway, right? If you agree, you’ll love this simple method for grilled peaches.

If you’re doing a Whole30, you can omit the honey and make the syrup from just ghee and 5-spice powder. Or, if you’re doing a reintroduction, honey is a good way to try out added sugars. (If you don’t like 5-spice powder, use cinnamon!)
