Asian Fusion Barbecue Sauce

A long time ago when I still watched the Food Network, (I unfortunately don’t have so much time these days) I saw Bobby Flay make this barbecue sauce recipe. Back then (I mean like 20 years ago) he used “grocery store” barbecue sauce as a base, and added peanut butter, soy sauce, honey, spices and some other ingredients that I now prefer to leave out of my diet. But I always loved this sauce.

Since discovering my partner The New Primal, and their amazing line of Paleo and Whole30 sauces and seasonings, I’ve re-imagined the old sauce recipe with new ingredients. I think it comes very close (to nearly indistinguishable) from the old recipe. It’s delicious on anything you would normally flavor with barbecue sauce, it has a nod to Asian flavors, and it’s just plain delish.
